Investmentlounge GO-Bio
At the Investmentlounge GO-Bio teams, start-ups and financially strong investors from the private sector come together. Here they can network, discuss financing and develop projects.
Successful technology transfer requires pioneering ideas, entrepreneurial spirit and the respective capital. Public funding schemes such as GO-Bio support researchers in the early stages of their projects. The further a project progresses, the more important funding from private investors becomes.
Bringing inventors and investors together
The BMBF regularly hosts the ‘Investmentlounge’ to increase the long-term success of GO-Bio projects and to establish new, sustainable and profitable start-ups in the market. Selected founding teams and life science start-ups meet with financially strong investors in a relaxed atmosphere. The selected founding teams and start-ups from different growth phases pitch their ideas and are given the opportunity for individual conversation.
Getting international investors on board
It is not just the GO-Bio teams who benefit from this capital-raising event; venture capital funds, corporate venture funds, family offices and business angels gain access to new and highly profitable life science business concepts, worth investing in. In 2016 and 2018 the ‘Investmentlounge GO-Bio’ was held at a castle near Berlin, in 2022 the event had to be held virtually due to the Corona pandemic. Since 2018, the ‘Investmentlounge’ has been held in English in order to address not only national but also international investors. As a result of the events, investors have engaged in in-depth discussions with the project teams, in some cases leading to successful founding rounds.
