Project description
How can new findings and technical achievements from the laboratory reach the market? This is where the BMBF-funded "TU Life Transfer" project of the TU Berlin comes in. It is aimed primarily at scientific staff and highlights the advantages of technology transfer as a source of financing for innovative research and as a personal development perspective. There are general and individual training and consulting offers for third-party funding applications, patents, start-ups and industrial cooperations. In addition, industry-specific network contacts are established. The aim is to particularly introduce researchers who have not yet had any contact with the field of technology transfer to the theoretical basics and practical tools as well as to help their projects to be implemented successfully.
The core of the project is a series of workshops for further training and sensitization of scientific personnel in the field of technology transfer. This training is carried out by external trainers and experts as well as with the involvement of TUB internal positions for transfer offers. Furthermore, the participation of network partners and role models enables the direct exchange of experience and the formation of networks. At a final presentation, participants can introduce their transfer ideas to a jury of experts and receive individual coaching.
Another central aspect of the program is the creation of networks with researchers, transfer offices and industry. For example, a network trip to the USA is offered to introduce scientific staff from the life sciences to entrepreneurial thinking and acting. The TU-Life-Transfer project provides 2x2 places with full cost coverage.
Advice on transfer-related topics can be requested at any time from the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the TU Berlin.
