Project description

The aim of the project "Zusatzmodul zur Stärkung des Technologietransfers“ was to strengthen technology transfer at Helmholtz Zentrum München in order to promote the implementation of biomedical research results in applications that benefit patients. With the help of project funding, measures have been introduced that have not only sustainably strengthened the technology transfer expertise of the HMGU but that have also structurally promoted it. The personnel capacities and expertise in the field of technology transfer could be expanded by financing an additional technology transfer manager for the development of strategic industrial cooperations.

Furthermore, an experienced mentor for drug discovery from the pharmaceutical industry has been recruited for consulting activities and to support the drug discovery projects of Helmholtz Zentrum München. In addition, Freedom-to-operate analyses for innovative development and spin-off projects were carried out with the help of project funding. Overall, the measures contributed to the fact that the projects received additional third-party funding and could be further developed specifically in the direction of utilization and application. The personnel measures initiated have been continued by Helmholtz Zentrum München.
